Tourist couple goes missing from Adaaran Prestige Vadoo

Authorities have started search and rescue efforts to find two tourists staying at Adaaran Prestige Vadoo who went missing after going out swimming.

Information officer of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), Major Adnan Mohamed informed “Sun” that the case was reported to them at midnight, Thursday.

Adnan reports that the two tourists are a Chinese couple; one a 38-year-old man and the other

a 24-year-old woman.

They were last seen out on a transparent seabed in the water towards north of the island.

MNDF reports that Coastguard’s harbor craft speedboat, Nooruddin speedboat and Hakuraa speedboat have been deployed with teams of divers for the search and rescue operation.

Coastguard has appealed to boats, divers and watersports operators in the area for assistance.
