MP Aslam proposes disability allowance of MVR 5,000

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) member, North Hithadhoo MP Mohamed Aslam has proposed introducing a disability allowance of MVR 5,000 in the projected State budget for 2017.

Budget Evaluation Committee submitted its report on the Projected State budget for 2017 during the People’s Majlis sitting this Wednesday.

MDP proposed 17 amendments to the budget, while Jumhoory Party proposed one amendment.

MP Aslam, who proposed introducing disability allowance said that rise in inflation and rise in prices of food products made it important.

He also proposed introducing an unemployment allowance of MVR 2,000.
