Police releases footage of vandals targeting PPM Leader’s HQ

Police has released security camera footage of suspects who vandalized PPM Leader’s headquarters by throwing crude oil on the building.

PPM Leader’s headquarters was recently opened by the Leader of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), former Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom in H. Thema where the PPM headquarters used to be situated in.

The video footage shows two men driving by the building, and the man on the backseat throwing oil on the building.

Police have appealed to the public for any information regarding the suspects.

Meanwhile, Kelaa MP Ali Arif has alleged that the incident was a self-designed attempt to spark public sympathy.

“The people of Maldives are now well-versed in politics. It may be something done by individuals who love or support President Maumoon to spark sympathy, or it may be something done to create conflict with us, or within our party,” said Arif.

He said that it wasn’t something done by supports of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
