Sun Siyam receives Lifetime Achievement Award in Tourism

Chairman of Sun Group, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed (Sun Siyam) has received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Tourism by Maldives Travel Awards (MTA) – the most prestigious award in tourism given in the country.

Sun Siyam was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by Minister of Tourism, Moosa Zameer during the MTA Gala Event held at Olhuveli Beach Resort on Sunday night.

His business, Sun Siyam Resorts also won the award for the resort which provides the most assistance to tour operators and travel agents.

In an exclusive interview with “Sun”, Siyam said he was delighted with the award, and dedicated it to the hard work of his employees.

Sun Group received two awards during MTA 2016.

Sun Siyam Iru Fushi beat Dusit Thani Maldives and Anantara Veli to win the award for Leading Wellness and Spa Resort.

Siyam built his business empire after starting off with his business in tourism as a young man.

His resorts and other business ventures have won both local and international awards. He has also expanded his “Sun” brand of resorts into Sri Lanka.
