Voter registration opened in Colombo, Trivandrum

Elections Commission (EC) has opened voter registration for the upcoming Local Council Election for people who will be voting in polling stations in Colombo, Sri Lanka and Trivandrum, India.

Voter registration will be open from November 14 to 21.

Voter registration forms are available for download from EC’s website, and from Maldivian embassies in Sri Lanka and India.

Its available locally from elections hall set up in former Jamaaluddin School building, from local council offices, and from district offices in Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.

Voter registration forms need to be submitted to the Maldivian consulate in Trivandrum, and Maldivian embassy in Colombo.

It can be submitted between 9:30 am to 4:30 pm every day, expect for Sundays. And between noon to 5 pm on Sundays.

Voters need an official original document of identification and a copy when submitting the voter registration form.

Local Council Election will be held in January 14, 2017.
