Redwave Saleem, MP Shujau defect to President Yameen’s faction

Eydhafushi MP, MP Ahmed Saleem (Redwave Saleem) and Baarah MP, Ahmed Shujau have defected to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s faction within Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

MP Saleem and MP Shujau had formerly been aligned with Maumoon’s faction.

Both Saleem and Shujau participated in a function held at Dharubaaru this Wednesday with President Yameen.

Saleem had previously voiced criticism against Yameen, refusing to vote for some of the bills submitted to People’s Majlis by his government.
