Fire irrupts in Thilafushi accommodation block

A fire incident took place in the accommodation block used by staff of Nalahiya in K. Thilafushi.

The incident took place this Wednesday morning, on the eights floor of the building.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF)’s information officer, Major Adnan Mohamed said that the fire had been quickly put out, but that a large part of the accommodation block had been damaged in the incident.

The cause of the fire is unclear at the moment.
