66 Maldivian companies to participate in World Travel Market

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has announced it will be participating in World Travel Market – one of the biggest tourism fairs in the world, scheduled for November in London, England.

MMPRC said that it had met with Maldivian partners who will be participating in the event, and shared detailed information regarding it.

It said that 168 representatives from 66 Maldivian companies will be participating in the event, which will be held from November 7 to 9.

The Maldivian delegation will be headed by Minister of Tourism, Moosa Zameer.

The Maldivian delegation will be sharing a 279 square meter area allocated for India and Asia Pacific countries.

World Travel Market 2016 is its 14th edition, and will be participated by more than 50,000 representatives from companies in 182 countries.

Its tipped off to facilitate 2.5 billion British Pounds in business deals.

More than 80 mini-events, including conferences and seminars will be held during the large event.

England is one of the main markets for Maldivian tourism industry, with 68,000 British tourists having visited the country this year, up until August.

This makes up for 8.1 percent of the total market.
