Indian High Commissioner to Maldives, Akhilesh Mishra has called out for Maldivian students to be allowed to actively participate in projects run by Indian companies in Maldives.
Speaking during the inauguration of luxury apartment project – Renaatus Ithaa Muiy – by RPP Group’s subsidiary - Renaatus Projects in Hulhumale’, Mishra spoke of the importance of strengthening individual relations between people of India and Maldives, same as the strength of diplomatic partnership between the two countries.
He said the same partnership needed to be seen between Indian and Maldivian businesses.
Architecture work on the luxury apartments was done by a local company.
Mishra talked about the importance of developing more such partnerships in business.
He asked that Maldivian students be allowed to work in projects run in Maldives by Indian companies – which are involved in their field of study.
“It is important to see if Maldivian trainee student participation can be facilitated. Collaborative work can be carried out with centers in Maldives such as Polytechnics, and arrangements can be made so students can actively participate in such projects,” said Mishra.
He noted that trade between the two countries dated back thousands of years, and stressed the importance of going beyond that.
“Think ahead of the future. Go beyond the transactional relationship of trade. That has been going on for thousands of years. Now we must build longer and deeper partnerships. You must explore more opportunities in which you can develop deeper partnerships with the Maldivian people.”
