Fight erupts during Police drug operation

A confrontation has turned violent when Police entered a residence in Maafannu, Malé City, to conduct a search as part of a drug operation

Police Media Official said that four officers were obstructed and attacked when they attempted to enter a house tonight around 9:45 p.m.

But it is yet unclear if any of the officers sustained any injuries or any drugs were found at the residence.

Sources say that Police entered Maafannu Nedhunge with a court order as part of a drug operation.

The Police Media Official said that four people who obstructed the Police and assaulted the officers have now been taken into custody.
