Indian cargo boat wrecks on reef near Lh. Kuredu

Coastguard has started providing assistance to an Indian cargo boat which wrecked on a reef near Lh. Kuredu Island Resort and Spa.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said that the incident was reported to them at approximately 7 am, this Monday.

There were seven Indians onboard the boat when the incident took place, all of whom are unharmed.

A team of Coastguard officers from MNDF Northern Command are providing assistance to the boat.

The boat had been travelling from Kulhudhuffushi to Male’ after unloading cargo to the island when the incident took place.
