A military officer has saved a woman from drowning in the ocean near the guesthouses in Hulhumale’.
The woman rescued from drowning is 35 years of age, and was alone in the ocean at the time.
The military officer who rescued the woman said that he did not know what caused the incident.
“I saw her drowning. So I rescued her and carried her to land. Her veil was twisted around her neck. I don’t know why it happened,” said the military officer in an interview with “Sun”.
The officer said she had breathing again after all the water was out of her lungs.
“She started breathing once all the water was out. I can’t say her condition is that severe. But I gave her first aid and sent her to the hospital in an ambulance,” he said.
The officer said the woman still had trouble breathing when she was taken to the hospital.
Hulhumale’ Hospital reported that the woman was in stable condition, but was being kept under observation and still had trouble talking.
