3.6 kilo of narcotics smuggled in from Dubai, Brazil seized

Customs has seized 3.6 kilos of narcotics smuggled in from a Maldivian who arrived in the country from Dubai and a Bolivian woman who arrived in the country from Brazil.

Customs said that two shipments of narcotics were seized in two separate operations, one in late September and one in October.

2.8 kilo of narcotics was found from the luggage of the Bolivian woman on September 26.

She had also tested positive for cocaine.

840 grams of narcotics was found from the luggage of the Maldivian who arrived in Maldives from Dubai on October 10.

He had tested positive for heroin.

The two people are under police detention.
