Slight tremor felt from earthquake, no danger

Slight tremors were felt in some parts of Maldives as a small earthquake hit 306 kilometers outside Male’ during the early hours of this Wednesday.

National Meteorological Center said that the earthquake hit at around 3:30 am.

It was a magnitude 4.9 earthquake.

NMC received reports from people who felt tremors in some parts of Maldives.

NMC reassured the public there was no threat from the earthquake to Maldives.
