New Managing Director appointed to Fenaka Corporation, Ahmed Shareef has launched great structural changes to the corporation.
Speaking during a press conference held last Thursday, Shareef said that the corporation was planning great structural changes; including compiling a new employee structure and a revision of employee salary structure.
“We are working on assigning a party to prepare an employee structure. At the same time, we are obtaining assistance from professionals to stabilize Fenaka employees’ salary structure,” said Shareef.
He said that the corporation had started supplying spare parts for electricity generators in 41 islands that need them.
Privatization Board appointed Shareef as the new Managing Director of Fenaka on September 26, while he had been working as Deputy Minister of Education.
The former Thimarafushi lawmaker was also appointed to the Board of Directors of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) last October.
Former MD of Fenaka, Mohamed Nimal was removed from the post last amid allegations of corruption and embezzlement within corporation – including the unknown whereabouts of MVR 17 million issued by the corporation to buy USD 1 million.
No trace of the money – either MVR or USD was found.
The exact cause of the decision to terminate Nimal has not been announced.
