Telecom company, Ooredoo Maldives has joined the Maldives Investment Forum III – which is scheduled to be held in New Delhi this year.
Ooredoo signed as a platinum partner for the event with Ministry of Economic Development this Thursday.
Speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Economic Development, Head of Sales for Ooredoo Maldives, Hussain Niyaz said that the company had brought revolutionary changes to the
Maldivian economy and telecommunications industry of Maldives within the past 11 years.
He said that Ooredoo Maldives was also the strongest foreign investment in the country after investments in the tourism industry.
Niyaz said that reliable telecommunication services was one of the key concerns of foreign investors interested in setting up businesses in Maldives.
“With the establishment of areas such as SEZs [Special Economic Zones], investors need internet and telecom services even in those areas. Anyone who comes to build a resort – they need internet or connectivity first. We assure investors that we are ready to provide the service,” said Niyaz.
Ooredoo Maldives had also been a partner in the Maldives Investment Forum II – which was held in China in 2015.
