JP Primaries open for Local Council Election

Jumhooree Party (JP) has opened applications to join the primaries for the JP ticket at the Local Council Election in January.

In a press statement issued by the party today, the party said that a specific number of candidates have not been decided and that JP would compete in the constituencies the members are interested in. They said that no special requirements need to be met to join the primaries aside from being a member of the party.

The statement said that application forms for the primaries for the interested constituencies must be filled and submitted by 2:30 p.m. of 20 October 2016.

JP has also announced that they would be running in the 2018 Presidential Election.

The Local Council Election is set to be held on 14 January 2017. Elections Commission said that no ballot boxes would be place abroad for the election.
