Senior Medical Officer at the Health Protection Agency (HPA) under the Health Ministry, Dr. Razanaa Faaiz has said that fast and quality neonatal and pediatric health services must be provided.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the workshop at Kurumba Maldives today, Dr. Razana said that the services provided to the public needs to be quality and caring services.
She said that if early symptoms in small children would lead to early treatment and protect the child from futher illnesses and the child can be brought back to good health.

The WHO Representative to the Maldives, Dr. Arvind Mathur also spoke at the ceremony saying that the medical services in the Maldivian atolls need to be improved and if a woman is in labor, we always see a transfer to the Capital City or abroad.
He said that lowering the prices of good medical services is important and the workshop started today is part of the “big picture” we want to see in medical services.
A total of 35 representatives from medical centers in Malé City and the atolls are taking part in the 2-day workshop in raising the quality and monitoring of services with available resources to provide better neonatal and pediatric treatment.
