Electricity problems at INIA

Services have been interrupted at Ibrahim Nasir international Airport (INIA) due to recurring power outages.

An employee of INIA said that the airport has been experiencing blackouts in different areas since this morning.

The employee said that currently, the blackout is at the domestic terminal and the passengers on domestic flights are also departing from the international terminal.

“Even without electricity, flights are not being delayed. International terminal got electricity around 2 p.m. No (electricity) at the domestic (terminal).” The INIA employee said.

The electricity problems are occurring due to a problem with the main generator according to the INIA employee.

Repeated attempts to contact the INIA Medial Official for an official word on the situation have been unsuccessful since the phone is switched off.
