Maldivian Minister of Health, Abdulla Nazim has participated in the 69th World Health Organization (WHO) Ministerial Round Table Conference on Sustainable Development Goals and Universal Health Coverage, which started in Sri Lanka last Monday.
Minister Nazim gave a speech during the conference, in which he stressed the importance of cooperation and collaboration between State institutions in order to achieve the 2020 Vision and objectives for sustainable growth and development.
Ministry of Health said in a press statement it released this Thursday that Minister Nazim talked about the role of Universal Health Coverage in implementing the 21 vows made as part of the Health Policy of Maldivian government.
He noted the importance of a health information system to collect information regarding objectives for sustainable development, and asked for assistance from WHO to establish such a system in Maldives.
