A family from India has filed a complaint with the country’s police over a man from the family being allegedly killed while working in Maldives.
Times of India reported that the complaint was filed by family of one 30-year-old Raja.
The newspaper reported that the family said they had talked to Raja over the phone on August 27, and was informed of his death by the company he works for in Maldives moments later.
Raja’s body was transported to the village of Ariyala, located in Manjeshwar Taluk in Kasaragod
District of Kerala State in India on August 30.
However, the family is reported to have refused to take his body, instead filing a complaint with the police.
Times of India reported that Raja’s body had been taken to a hospital in Ariyala for a postmortem, and that the case was now under investigation by the Indian police.
Maldives Police Service is unavailable for comment regarding the issue at the moment.
