Dewatering System contracted to MWSC

Housing Ministry has contracting the Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) to find a solution to the water pipes on the sidewalks and roads to drain water from construction sites.

At ceremony held today, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu signed the agreement with the Managing Director of MWSC, Fazul Rasheed.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Dr. Muizzu said that the installment of a dewatering system would benefit the people substantially. Minister said that the sea outflow at the two areas of the western side of Malé would be closed and would be diverted through the Industrial ward.

The Managing Director of MWSC also spoke at the ceremony saying that they have decided to reroute the lines of three pump stations and would reach a solution in about a month or so. Fazul said that construction industry would benefit when the project has been completed.

The sea outflows in the two areas of western Malé are being diverted through the industrial ward on MWSC funds.

At the ceremony today, land from the newly reclaimed area of the industrial ward was assigned for the dewatering system and sea outflow diverting and the relevant agreement was signed as well.
