Government as overridden their earlier decision to allow only those who hold a Master’s Degree or above in Psychology to work in the field, permitting Bachelor’s Degree-holders in Psychology to work as assistant psychologist trainees.
The decision to allow only those who hold a Master’s Degree or above had created a shortage of practicing psychologists in Maldives, putting psychological clinics in trouble.
An official from Maldives Allied Health Council spoke to “Sun” on Saturday and said that Bachelor’s Degree-holders were now being issued permit to work as assistant psychologist trainees.
Maldives Allied Health Council had announced earlier that only those who possess a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Psychology would be allowed to practice in Maldives.
