Oldest Chinese tourist invited to Maldives

The oldest Chinese citizen to be allowed to travel as a tourist has been invited on a holiday to Maldives by Maldives China Trade and Cultural Organization.

Liu Chengxin, 101, became the oldest Chinese outbound tourist ever after acquiring her first travel permit despite the health risk, quite an accomplishment as Chinese insurance companies do not cover anyone over 90 years old.

Insurance is a must for any Chinese citizen who wishes to go abroad on holiday.

Vice President of Maldives China Trade and Cultural Organization, Midhuam Saud said that the organization was working on inviting the special Chinese tourist to Maldives.

“We are trying to contact her. We will invite her to Maldives for sure, as soon as we contact her,” said Midhuam.

Maldivian tourism industry is dominated by Chinese tourists.
