The trial of the three minors charged with the murder of 14-year-old Ahmed Irushan Hilmee on the evening of 3 June 2016 has started yesterday.
All three are charged with first degree murder with a sharp object.
An official from the Juvenile Court said that at the first hearing of the trial yesterday, two of the accused were given another opportunity to get legal counsel. And the third requested another opportunity to get legal representation.
The second hearing of the case is set for Wednesday.
The charge brought forth by the state says that on the evening of 3 June 2016, around 5:30 p.m. the three accused, along with others attacked a group in a pickup truck parked on Majeedhee Magu towards Maafannu Madhange and one of the accused stabbed Irushan on the neck.
The accused in the murder of Irushan are of the ages 14, 15 and 17 years of age.
