A tourist yacht which came to Maldives from Victoria Harbor in Seychelles has been fined with MVR 30,000 after it traveled to Hulhumale’ without authorization of Maldives Customs.
Maldives Customs regulation dictates that any sea vessel which arrives in Maldives from out of the country cannot travel anywhere within Maldivian territorial waters except a national harbor without authorization from Customs.
The yacht arrived in Maldives from Seychelles on August 19.
National harbors of the Maldives are Male’ Commercial Harbor, Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, Hanimaadhoo International Airport, Kulhudhuffushi Regional Harbor, Gan International Harbor and Hithadhoo Regional Harbor.
Maldives Customs has given the yacht three days to pay the fine.
