High Court has made the decision to include Haveeru News shareholder Mohamed Zahir Hussain in the appeal filed by former employees of Haveeru News over their two-year work ban, following the outcome of the lawsuit filed by the other three shareholders on Haveeru News.
The panel of judges overseeing the appeal made the decision during the hearing held at High Court this Sunday, citing that Zahir Hussain had been one of the defendants in the trial held at Civil Court.
The judges had asked the former Haveeru News employees who filed the appeal to submit documents proving that they are former Haveeru employees during the previous hearing, but the employees said that some of the documents are not available.
The issue is to be discussed during the next hearing.
Civil Court had ordered a two-year ban on former Haveeru News employees from working in any media station, asking the Ministry of Home Affairs to enforce the order.
The ban has been protested against by the Attorney General, Mohamed Anil himself.
