Ministry of Islamic Affairs has said that all Maldivians who are in Saudi Arabia for this year’s hajj pilgrimage will reach Medina this Saturday.
Ministry of Islamic Affairs made the announcement in a statement it released on Saturday.
It also mentioned in the statement that the first 500-people batch of Maldives Hajj Corporation pilgrims had arrived in Medina last Tuesday, with the other 500-people batch to follow after them.
The pilgrims are staying at Safar al-Eman Hotell located near Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
Another 1,000 Maldivians will be performing the hajj pilgrimage through five private hajj organizations – pushing the total number of Maldivians who will be performing the hajj pilgrimage this year to 2,000.
Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced that the Maldivians who traveled to Saudi Arabia through the private hajj organizations would also arrive in Medina this Saturday.
Maldives has been enrolled in a tour program launched for this year by the Medina headquarters of Sauid Arabian Ministry of Hajj.
Ministry of Islamic Affairs said that the pilgrims would be treated to a tour of the rich historical and artistic wonders of Medina and Mecca during the tour.
