Indian High Commissioner to Maldives, Akilesh Mishra paid a courtesy call on Maldivian Vice President Abdulla Jihad on Monday morning.
High Commissioner Mishra called upon the VP at President’s Office.
During the call, VP Jihad thanked the Indian government for their continued support to Maldivian government and its people even during the most challenging of times, while Mishra described the long standing relationship between the two countries as “unique”, and provided assurances of continued support.
Both Jihad and Mishra discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Under Secretary at President’s Office - Mohamed Naseer and Joint Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Farzana Zahir.
