Some Maldivian hajj groups have accused Sri Lankan companies of taking money and violating agreements to arrange hajj and umrah visa, travel, and other arrangements.
An owner of a Maldivian hajj group spoke to “Sun”, and said that as a result, hajj groups had to pay extra money to make the necessary arrangements.
He said his group had personally experienced such difficulties.
He warned that even though it was cheaper to make the arrangements from Sri Lanka, the best way was to make the necessary arrangements through Maldivian companies – Cyprea or Island Aviation.
“The best way is to make the arrangements through Cyprea or Island Aviation. Otherwise, the pilgrims may have to face difficulties. The Travelers Global Colombo company is one such company that is cheating us,” he said.
