Man, son arrested for molesting 9-year-old girl in Maduvvari

A 56-year-old man and his 29-year-old son have been arrested from R. Maduvvari under the suspicion they molested a 9-year-old-girl from the same island.

Police confirmed the arrest to “Sun”, and reported that the two men were arrested under court order on Saturday.

“Sun” has been informed that the case was reported to police by a civilian.

The individual who reported the case said that the 29-year-old step brother of the girl had taken her out of the island a couple of days back – returning one day later.

The individual said that the girl’s mother had gone out searching for her that day.

The 9-year-old girl is a grade 2 student.
