Ministry investigates after Islamic Center marble floor show cracks

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has said that the authority had started investigating the cracks on the piazza – a marble floor prayer area - outside Islamic Center.

Marble was placed on a 4,200 square meter area outside Islamic Center for Ramadan.

The USD 1.14 million project was completed within 16 days.

The project was funded through non-reimbursable financial aid by Chinese government.

The marble used was also donated by the Chinese government.

However, the 20,000-people capacity marble floor showed cracks after a month of use.

Housing Ministry announced through their official Twitter account on Sunday that they are investigating the cracks, and would take necessary steps to repair the damage.
