Mother, daughter transported to Male’ after accident in Eydhafushi

A woman and her 12-year-old daughter have been transported to Male’ for treatment after a road accident which took place in B. Eydhafushi on Monday night.

Police media official reported that the accident took place at around 10:30 pm when they were hit by a motorcycle while walking along the Eydhafushi reclaimed land area.

They were transported to Male’ after initial treatment at B. Atoll Hospital.

Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) reported that both mother and daughter were in stable condition.

Media official of IGMH said that neither of the two had received any major visible injuries, but that further tests were needed to check for internal injuries.

“A CT scan has been done. Both patients are stable. But they are being kept as there are still further investigations that need to be done,” said the official.

The two people on the motorcycle also suffered varying degrees of injuries.

The individual driving the motorcycle is still under treatment at B. Atoll Hospital.

Police are investigating the case.
