Sun Online has been assigned official online media partner for the first international film festival to be held in Maldives, hosted by Sun Siyam Irufushi Resort.
The film festival named – Following the Equator – is to be held at Sun Siyam Irufushi Resort.
The agreement between Sun Online and Sun Siyam Irufushi was signed in a ceremony held at Sun Hotels and Resorts head office on Monday.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Irufushi by Sales and Marketing Director Evgenia Boyankova, and on behalf of Sun Online by General Manager – Sales and Marketing of Sun Media Group Minha Faiz.
Speaking during the ceremony, Boyankova said that Maldives was the best tourist destination in the world, and that being able to host the first such international event in Maldives with talented and experienced individuals was a great honor.
She said that the festival would be held annually at the resort starting from this year.
She said that she was glad that Sun Online would be joining in on the event.
Meanwhile, Minha said that Sun Online would provide its full cooperation to the film festival.
Over 200 films from 15 countries have been submitted for the festival. But only 45 films have been nominated and 10 films selected for the festival by the international panel of judges.
The best film will be given a return ticket to Maldives, and an all-inclusive package in a luxury villa of the winner’s choosing for 5 days – worth USD 20,000.
The best films will also be screened in other international film festivals.
