Former Defense Minister Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim has requested Supreme Court to review his 11-year prison based on the police forensic report on the pistol found in his apartment.
Nazim’s attorney Husnu Suood has confirmed this to “Sun”.
The request comes after Supreme Courted made its decision to uphold Nazim’s sentence.
Police reported that they found traces of former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor’s DNA in the pistol while the decision on whether or not to support the sentence was pending in Supreme Court.
Husnu Suood said that the pistol was smuggled into Nazim’s apartment by a police officer called “Asif” during the raid on his apartment.
And named Adeed and former Commissioner of Police Hussein Waheed as the masterminds behind framing Nazim.
