Saudia selected to transport Maldivian hajj pilgrims

National Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has been selected to transport Maldivian hajj pilgrims to and from Saudi Arabia, this year.

The agreement was signed in a ceremony held at Hajj Corporation office building on Sunday.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Hajj Corporation by Managing Director Yameen Idhrees, and on behalf of Saudi by CEO Hisham Shams.

Speaking during the ceremony, Yameen Idhrees said that Saudia would operate four direct flights to and from Jeddah to transport hajj pilgrims.

He said that hajj pilgrims would be given baggage allowance of 40 kg, not including Zamzam water.

Saudia started direct flights to Maldives in March, 2016.
