Foundation laid for 8-story building by Alia in Bandeyri Koshi

Foundation has been laid for the eight-story building being built in the main military compound – Bandeyri Koshi – by Alia Construction.

The foundation for the building was laid in a special ceremony held on Sunday night by Minister of Defense Adam Shareef Umar, and Chief of Defense Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam and other military officers.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) released a statement in which it said that Alia

Construction had been tasked to construct the building within 240 days.

And that the contract was worth MVR 29 million.

The building is to have office space, an accommodation block, prayer area, conference hall, and a parking zone.

Alia Construction was officially awarded the project by Minister Adam Shareef Umar in a ceremony held at Coastguard Building.

The contract was signed on behalf of Alia by the company’s Managing Director, Mohamed Atho Ali.
