Man falls to death from construction building

A man has fallen to death from the sixth storey of M. Muddhooge, a building under construction in Male’.

According to IGM Hospital, he died at 11:45 while being treated at ICU for serious injuries sustained from the fall.

The man is of Bangladeshi nationality and was unconscious when transported to the hospital. He never regained consciousness.

The accident happened at around 8:15 this morning.

Police have not so far revealed any details of the deceased, but said that the case is under investigation.

A foreign national fell from a building last year as well. He survived with some injuries. Cases are brought to people’s attention every now and then, of foreigners being mistreated by Maldivian employers.
