Diving boat carrying tourists wrecks on Meedhoo reef

A diving boat “Vidhuvaru” carrying tourists wreck on S. Meedhoo reef on Saturday.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) reported that the boat wrecked on the reef with seven tourists, a diving instructor and three crew members onboard.

No one suffered any harm in the incident.

Those onboard “Vidhuvaru” have been transported to Meedhoo by MNDF officers.

The incident occurred at around 1 pm.

The belly of the boat broke in the incident leading to water seeping into the boat.

MNDF divers are working on towing the boat.
