Home Minister Umaru Naseer has said that the days where people believed that raising their voices and protesting on the streets when they are not happy with things were a good thing have passed.
Speaking at the foundation ceremony of the Haa Alifu Hoarafushi Police Station, contracted to Ameen Construction, today, Minister Umaru Naseer said that the government is trying to set the workings of the country to the right path at a time where major organized crime has increased.
The Minister said that the days where school students raising voices and protesting against students and island public protesting against the Council were deemed as good things have passed.
Minister Umaru Naseer said that the government is sustaining the social security of the country and correcting things and doing everything that needs to be done to establish safety and security in the nation.
The Minister said that taking out anything that is preventing from achieving that and securing the protection of the people is what the government wants.
Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Areef has previous said that the Police Station being built in Hoarafushi is a divisional level station with the modern facilities.
The Hoarafushi Police Station would have a two-floor office building and a three-floor accommodation building along with a cell block and a vehicle parking shed.
The accommodation building at the station would come with a mess room, storage room, a laundry room, a recreation room and a prayer room. And the administration building would have in view rooms, a reception area, a class room along with in charge office and an operations room.
