Police Station opened at Meedhoo

In an effort to provide the service of the Police closer to the people, a Police Station has been opened at Dhaalu Meedho.

Meedhoo Police Station was opened by the Home Minister, Umar Naseer and the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Areef.

Speaking at the ceremony, Commissioner Areef said that the Maldivian Police Service was established 83 years ago to assure safety and security to the public and the service is being across the atolls and the islands in an effort to create a safe, protected environment.

With the establishment of a permanent Police Station in Meedhoo, the Police Service have now been officially extended to 79 islands.

As Meedhoo Police Station has officially been opened today, the building of the Haa Alifu Hoarafushi Police Station was contracted to Ameen Construction last week.

The project has been contracted to Ameen Construction to be completed within one year.
