Hiriya principal’s suspension extended for another month

Ministry of Education has extended the suspension of Hiriya School Principal, Ismail Masroof for another one-month period.

Masroof was arrested on April 16 after police started investigating a complaint that he flirted with one of the school’s students.

He was released the next day by court with the stipulation that he cooperate with police in their investigation.

He was originally suspended by Ministry of Education on April 17 for a month.

Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education, Dr. Abdul Muhsin Mohamed now says that Masroof’s suspension has been extended for another one-month period.

Muhsin did not give a reason for the decision.

The case is being investigated by Family and Child Protection Department of Maldives Police Service.
