2-year-sentence to man who conned MVR 30k from victim

Mohamed Waheed (Male’ Dhafthar 2218) has been sentenced to two years in prison after he was found guilty of conning MVR 30,000 from another man back in 2014.

Mohamed Waheed conned the money out of Mohamed Rizuwee from G. Golden House, promising to clear furniture needed for a 10-story building from Customs, on June 23, 2014.

Mohamed Waheed had given Rizuwee a forged document that showed he owned a row-house in Hulhumale’ as guarantee he would pay back the money.

The Criminal Court ruling on the case read that Mohame Waheed was proven guilty based on the testimony of state witnesses.
