Met Office: Rain expected in the north and central atolls for the 24 hours

National Meteorological Service has said that rain is expected in the northern and central atolls for the next 24 hours.

An official from the Met Office told Sun Media today that travellers in the areas are advised caution due to the rain.

The Official said that this was not the rain from any storm in the area but the rain from the southwest monsoon which began in 9 May this year.

No sea swells are expected in any island in the current rain according to the Met Office.

A number of islands recently experienced floods and a number of people were affected due to torrential rain. Met Office said that the torrential rains were due to the storm “Roanu.” Met Office then said that the storm was travelling away from the Maldives.
