Authorities investigate presence of wine in a sauce sold in Maldives

Customs have begun an investigation following reports of presence of wine in a sauce being sold in the Maldives.

The presence was discovered in Italian Chicken Scallopini sauce by Leggo brand.

Senior Superintendent of Customs, Ahmed Niyaz told Sun Media today that customs officers have been investigating since it was reported to contain white wine and bacon.

He said that it is not confirmed that the sauce contains wine.
