The launch “Niruma” that capsized after being completely burned in a fire, while traveling from Malé City to Hulhulé on Sunday, has been recovered from the sea.
MNDF Media Official told Sun Media today that the vessel was recovered with the efforts of the MNDF divers working with the owner and was taken to Villi-Malé.
The launch was completely destroyed beyond use in the fire.
Owner of the vessel, Abdulla Ahmed told Sun Media that the fire started while ignition when the petrol tank caught fire.
The fire started while the vessel was leaving the Malé harbor to go to Hulhulé to collect tourists from INIA. There were three locals on board at the time and survived with minor injuries.
