10-year sentence to man who assaulted 6-year-old

Mohamed Shazleen, 25, from Iruvaimaage in G. A. Vilingili has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old child.

Shazleen was sentenced by Vilingili Magistrate Court last Thursday.

The assault took place during November, 2015.

Though he did not plead guilty to the crime during trial, he was convicted based on his confession to police as well as witness testimony.
