Sun Online has introduced Desktop Notifications to PC users last night. This feature allows PC and laptop users to receive the headlines of the articles published on Sun Online via Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
The service introduce with Sun Media’s platform for the latest on jobs, announcements, tenders and education in the Maldives, Sun List allows users to be up to date with the latest news and developments.
Abdulla Azlam of the In-house Developing team of Sun Media Group said that a small widow would appear at the top corner when users go to Sun Online from Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari from Desktop PC or a laptop and simply click ”Allow” to receive news alerts.
He said that it would be a one-time click and news headlines notifications would appear at the bottom corner as they are published.
The Chief Editor of Sun Media Group, Ahmed Zahir Mohamed (Hirigaa) said that as the biggest online news in the country, that it is the responsibility of Sun Media to bring news and information to the people with ease.
And the General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Sun Media Group, Minha Faaiz Rashaad said that Sun Media is always researching the changes to the media market and making the relevant modern changes and bring the news with ease to the public is one of the biggest aims of Sun Media.
She said that Sun Media is working to introduce more features to bring news to the public through social media.
As the desktop notification alert has been introduced by Sun Online, Sun Media was the first media outlet to introduce mobile alerts of the news in the Maldives. Sun Online is currently the most visited website in the Maldives.
