Council: Farhad looks to have died a natural death

R. Alifushi Council has said that the man found dead of the beach of the island one day after his disappearance – Farhad Mohamed, 37, seems to have died a natural death.

Farhad went missing after Friday prayers and was found dead on the eastern beach of the island on Saturday after the whole community went looking for him.

Vice President of Alifushi Council, Ibrahim Shareef spoke to “Sun” on Sunday and said that it was most likely that Farhad died a natural death.

He said that it was strongly possible that Farhad – who suffers from fits – had one of his fits and fell down and drowned in the ocean.

“Apparently it’s a natural death. It’s most likely that he had one of his fits while of the jetty and fell into the ocean with no one there, and the tide carried him to the beach,” said Shareef.

Shareef said that the council had not heard of anyone having any grudge against Farhad, or of him having any grudge against anyone.

He said he did not believe Farhad could have been murdered.

“No one made any complaint against him. I do not believe for one second that it resulted from anyone deliberately harming him,” said Shareef.
