Finance Forum: A number of discussions on conducted on the financial sector

A number of discussions on the development of the Maldivian financial sector have been held at the Maldives Finance Forum 2016 organized by the Pension Administration Office.

Development of the financial sector, challenges in the sector and solutions were discussed at the forum that began at Kurumba Maldives Resort today.

Financial Reform and Modernizing the sector are the highlighted notes in the forum this year.

CEO of the Maldives Pension Administration Office, Mohamed Hussain Manik said that there are more than MVR 5 billion in the pension fund and the importance of the development of the financial sector is evident from the side of the fund.

He said that the issues with the financial sector has been notified by the Pension Office, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) and the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) and will be working to resolve them.

While a number of government institutes and independent companies in the financial sector are taking part in the forum, some experts from the international community have joined the forum.
